We want you to be able to travel in comfort at all times. For this reason, we are gradually making our stations barrier-free. This includes the station Gäufelden, which has been undergoing conversion since 18 March 2024. As a result of the construction work at the station and additional measures on the track, restrictions for travellers, visitors and local residents are possible. The work is expected to be completed by the beginning of October 2024.
In order to provide travellers and visitors with a comfortable stay at the station and access to the trains, the station Gäufelden is being made completely barrier-free. As part of the construction work, the platform will be raised to 76 centimetres and widened to over two metres. In future, travellers will be able to board and alight from trains stopping at the station comfortably and without steps and will have more space on the platform. In addition, two new lifts will be installed at the station forecourt and on the platform to provide barrier-free access to the station. A tactile guidance system for visually impaired people is also being implemented at the station. The station forecourt and subway are also to be modernised in the future.
Due to the construction work taking place at the station Gäufelden until the beginning of October 2024, there may be restrictions and disruptions on site for travellers, visitors and residents. During the construction phase, work will also be carried out at night in some cases. This may result in disturbing noise for local residents. This will affect the periods between 25 March and 8 April, 8 May and 20 July and 23 and 25 September 2024.
During the construction work, two bridge structures on the Gäubahn in Eutingen and Ergenzingen will also be repaired. For this purpose, the line between Herrenberg and Rottweil will be closed from 18 May to 1 June 2024 for the lifting of the bridge structures and for measures at the station. A replacement bus service has been organised. Please check your train connections before travelling and allow extra time for your journey.
We ask for your understanding during the construction period and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
