Until the DB Lounge reopens at the beginning of 2025, guests will be invited to the Design Offices premises on a transitional basis. Cold and hot drinks will be offered as usual in a separate area of the Design Offices. Guests of the Premium Lounge will also be able to enjoy snacks such as soups, wraps and cakes, and the replacement lounge is just a five to six-minute walk away. The opening hours remain unchanged.
How will the DB Lounge at Köln Hauptbahnhof be designed and equipped from 2025?
After the reopening, travellers will once again find a DB Lounge with a generous amount of space at Köln Hauptbahnhof. It will be divided into a comfort and a premium area.
Both areas will have three zones: For relaxing, working and for refreshments. Rail travellers will be able to follow the current departure times on monitors. There will be a well-stocked selection of magazines on shelves. Both areas will be equipped with washrooms and toilets.
In the Comfort Lounge, a modern self-service counter will be located in the centre of the bistro area. Guests will be able to enjoy refreshments at tables with spacious seating areas, stools and individual armchairs. High, long tables with power strips and a privacy screen in the centre are planned for the work area. The relaxation zone will have comfortable lounge and wing chairs.
In the Premium Lounge, the bistro, relaxation and work zones are designed to be more spacious and sophisticated. Instead of the self-service counter, access-authorised travellers can expect a service counter with barista service. The size and furnishings in the Premium Lounge at Köln Hauptbahnhof will offer more space and privacy.
Who has access to the DB Lounge?
A general ticket requirement applies in the DB Lounges (daily ticket for Deutsche Bahn long-distance transport). Tickets are checked at reception using a scanner or by the lounge staff. The ticket or the code from the BahnBonus app is required for this.
