The extensive modernisation work at the station Bruchköbel began in February 2024. The planned measures will provide travellers and visitors with improved comfort at the station as well as barrier-free access to the platforms in future.

Guidance systems for the blind at railway stations enable visually impaired people to move around safely and independently by following tactile and auditory orientation aids.

The kick-off for the main construction work at the station Bruchköbel took place on 23 February 2024. Firstly, the construction of a new pedestrian subway is planned. This will be followed by the new construction of the outer platform and the dismantling of the centre platform, followed by the new construction of the house platform on track 1.

The extension and uniform raising of the outer and main platforms to 76 centimetres will make it easier to board and alight trains in future. New lifts will simplify access to the platforms. This will enable people with reduced mobility to move around the station without assistance. It will also be much easier to take bicycles and buggies with you.

A tactile guidance system and passenger information systems will also ensure better orientation. New weather shelters and new environmentally friendly LED lighting will contribute to a more pleasant stay at the station.
